Who We Are
Hope 4 Africa is a non-profit, 501 (3) (c) organization which works under the umbrella of the West Des Moines School District Foundation. We are a national- and international-based organization that primarily focuses on problems that cripple Africa, and we seek to offer long-term solutions to these problems. We believe that Africa has the potential to be a better place but if and only if we channel the necessary resources to the right place(s).
To be able to understand and solve the problems in Africa, one has to go to the main root cause, which is the lack of knowledge that Africans have. Ignorance is what cripples this blessed continent, and the primary solution is to address the issues associated with access to quality education for all Africans—education afforded to a four year old to educating a mother on how she can take care of her newborn. Along this continuum, we can aid in creating long-term solutions to this continent’s problems. We need to teach Africans how they can be self-independent and, in turn, witness them coming up with homegrown solutions that directly apply to them.
