A birthday is always a special occasion: parties, gifts, cards, and facebook wall posts – you know, the important things in life. However, as great as all of the festivities surrounding birthdays are, by participating in Birthdays 4 Hope you can make your birthday into something bigger, something truly special. The idea of this campaign, inspired by the incredible work done by charity:water, is to ask people to donate their birthday to raise money for Hope 4 Africa. Instead of asking for clothes, video games, and iTunes giftcards, ask your friends and family to donate a few dollars (or a lot of dollars) to our great cause. This process is run through Facebook Causes; read on to find out how to donate your birthday and make a difference!

Step 1: Make sure you have the causes app enable on your facebook account.
Step 2: Got to www.wishes.causes.com then click on “Creak a Wish
Step 3: Put in your Birthday information.
Step 4: Type in how old you will be turning.
Step 5: Pick the cause you are raising money for by searching “Hope 4 Africa” select “Hope 4 Africa, Inc”
Step 6: Add how much you think people should give individually (for example it could be $21 since you are turning 21). Then add how much you would like to raise total.
Step 7: Write a short story using the simple story creator.
Step 8: Follow the different options of sharing and spreading the word about your Birthday wish.
