"Long-Term Solutions for Problems in Africa"

Hope 4 Africa @ ISU is a student branch of the main organization Hope 4 Africa, Inc. that works with schools in Kenya. Our student organization organizes events and fundraisers in order to raise money to improve education in Kenya. We believe that as young as we are we can still make a difference in this world by giving other young people the tools they need to achieve their dreams. Our student organization officially launched at Iowa State in the fall of 2009.

From 2009-2011, we have raised over $15,000 through various events to benefit the Books 4 Hope program which was completed in late May 2010, when Moses and two of our members went on a 2 week trip to Kenya.  During the 2010-2011 school year, we completed the Computers 4 Hope program, and starting raising money for the H2O 4 Hope and our ongoing Hope 4 Students scholarship program. In May 2011, seven members of the club traveled to Kenya to deliver the money and supplies that we had raised for the schools.

For the 2011-2012 school year, H4A @ ISU’s goal is to raise $10,000. So far, we have sponsored a tie-dye event on campus and paired with Panda Express® to reach this goal. We plan our events during our club meetings on Tuesday nights at 7 (location varies).
